Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp hits an estimated 15 million downloads

August 20, 2025

With Nintendo already having releasedSuper Mario RunandFire Emblem Heroes, there was plenty of anticipation surrounding the company’s third mobile title,Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. With the game now out for almost a full week, it looks as ifPocket Campis off to a good start with an estimated 15 million downloads worldwide.

By comparison,Super Mario RunandFire Emblem Heroesamassed 32 million and 7 million downloads, respectively, during their first six days of availability, according to SensorTower’s data. This makes some sense, seeing how Mario is far more recognizable around the world, while Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem are more niche properties by comparison.

Then again, we can scrutinize these download numbers and wonder how many concurrent players each game has. While SensorTower did not have those figures, it did have early estimates on another indicator of an app’s success: revenue. SincePocket Campis a free download, that means monetization, and part of its sustained success, depends on in-app purchases.

In that regard, it’s tough to say how much moneyPocket Campis making for Nintendo, since the game currently sits at number 62 in the top grossing list on the Play Store. That’s not too shabby of a standing, seeing how the list of apps on the Play Store goes on and on, but until we get hard numbers from Nintendo itself, we can’t say whetherPocket Campis or will be a financial success for the company.

What wecansay, however, is that more than a few people are at least excited enough by the game to give it a download. We’ll keep a close eye on how well (or poorly)Pocket Campperforms for Nintendo, but in the meantime, let us know in the comments what your thoughts on the game are and whether you will keep the game on your device.
