July 30, 2025

AT&T has been busy the last few months tweaking the data allotment for their Mobile Share Value plans. Several weeks ago,AT&T addedan additional 1GB to those purchasing a 2GB Mobile Share Value plan (therefore giving the customer 3GB total). AT&T also added an additional 2GB to those purchasing a 4GB Mobile Share Value plan (therefore giving the customer 6GB total).

Now, AT&T is again making changes. Beginning today,AT&T is offeringto add 5GB to those purchasing a 10GB Mobile Share Value plan. According to AT&T, 15GB of data allows customers to stream 160 hours of music, 30 hours of video, surf the web for 300 hours or post 1,000 photos to social media sites.

The new data is available to new and existing AT&T consumers and includes domestic unlimited talk and text. Those with the 10GB Mobile Share Value plan (now 15GB plan) pay roughly $100 per month according to AT&T’s web-site.

Of course, do not forget about the many fees that AT&T will make you pay if trying to get in on this promotional deal. Those who purchased a phone on AT&T Next (or at full price) will need to pay $15 per month as a “smartphone access charge.” For anyone on a 2-year wireless agreement, the “smartphone access charge” is $40 per month per line.

Basically, it is one of AT&T’s BWC (Because We Can) charges. Let’s just be happy that AT&T is telling people about this BWC charge and not waiting until the last second possibleas AT&T did last time.
