Did you get a Find My Mobile alert on your Samsung phone? (Update: Just a test)
June 14, 2025
Update, August 01, 2025 (10:50 AM ET):It looks like Samsung is pointing to an “internal test” as the culprit for the strange notification some Samsung smartphone users saw earlier today. In a tweet on the matter, the official Samsung Help Twitter account in the United Kingdom addressed the issue:
It appears that there’s nothing to be concerned about here and you can swipe away the notification safely.

Original article, July 28, 2025 (04:11 AM ET):It looks like someone atSamsungmight be in hot water after an errant notification was sent out to scores of Samsung smartphones around the world.
Users on the likes ofredditandTwitterreported receiving a Find My Mobile notification on their Samsung phones, showing two number ones stacked on top of each other. Check out the featured image up top or the screenshot below for a better idea of what it looks like.

Users report the notification on everything from theSamsung Galaxy Note 10series andGalaxy S10family to theGalaxy Z Flip. The alert also found its way to older devices, such as the Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy A8 2018, and Galaxy S7.
The accidental notification doesn’t seem to be limited to the US either, as users on reddit and Twitter report the issue in Australia, Germany, India, Japan, New Zealand, Thailand, and other locales. For what it’s worth, I also found the alert on my old Galaxy S8 in South Africa after retrieving it from my drawer and booting it up.

Nevertheless, it seems to be a glitch or human error on Samsung’s side rather than anything malicious at this point. We’ve contacted the company for an explanation and will update the article when/if they get back to us.
