Gameplay video of Fortnite for Android on a Galaxy S9 Plus is here
July 13, 2025
We expectFortnite for Androidto officially launch tomorrow alongside theSamsung Galaxy Note 9. We also expect the game to beexclusive to that devicefor up to 30 days.
However, it doesn’t appear that that exclusive will stop you from playing the game on your current Android devices, as a team of hackers atXDA Developersjust posted a gameplay video of Fortnite for Android as played on aSamsung Galaxy S9 Plus(see above).

TheXDAteam also gave confirmation that the game was playable on aGoogle Pixel 2 XLand anEssential Phone, butnotplayable on aOnePlus 6. The OnePlus 6 is not on the leaked list ofFortnite-compatible devices— but then again, neither is the Essential Phone.
Here is the error message theXDAteam saw when attempting to start gameplay on a OnePlus 6:

To be clear, all the devices that were able to play Fortnite for Android were rooted, which enabled the users to bypass various checks that the software makes.XDAthinks that the reason the OnePlus 6 was rejected was due to various tweaks the user previously made on the device, and not because of the device’s make and model.
In other words, you will need root to be one of the first to play Fortnite for Android — and even then your mileage may vary.
you may see more pics of gameplay footage on Android devices over atXDA Developers. Tune in tomorrow for the likely launch of Fortnite for Android on the Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
