The filing doesn’t tell us anything else about the new ‘buds, but we already wenthands-onwith them at Google’s October 2019 launch event. The Google Pixel Buds 2 are true wireless designs, with no cable between the two earbuds like the original release. Furthermore, you’re also getting long-range Bluetooth connectivity, five hours of battery life (or 19 hours with the case), and the ability to use either earbud as the primary earbud (e.g. for call and music controls).
The FCC listing comes several weeks after the ‘budsmade an appearanceon the Wireless Power Consortium website, although the filing has reportedly been pulled since then. The WPC appearance nevertheless confirms 5W wireless charging for the case, which should be fast enough to top up the Pixel Buds 2 in no time.
Google previously revealed that the new earbuds will set you back $179, and you can join the waitlist overhere.
