LG G7 ThinQ reportedly outdid G6 in South Korea pre-order sales
June 22, 2025
The public’s reaction to theLG G7 ThinQappears to be positive asEtnewsreports that more than 70,000 people pre-ordered the device in South Korea. Last year, LG said that around40,000 people pre-ordered the LG G6in the four days after pre-order sales started in the home market.
The LG G7 ThinQ has been available for pre-order in Korea since May 11. The reported numbers take into consideration both the LG G7 ThinQ and the LG G7 ThinQ Plus. The devices cost 898,700 won (~$833) and 976,800 (~$906) won respectively. The LG G7 ThinQ costs about the same as the LG G6 did upon release.

LG has a lot staked on the release of the G7 ThinQ being a success. The companychanged its smartphone release strategyearlier this year and the G7 is the first device to come from this change. Ultimately, the company hopes the device can help turn around itsloss-making mobile division.
Of course, solid pre-order numbers from one country don’t make a phone a success or a failure. Also, the report didn’t arrive directly from LG so the actual figures may be slightly different from those suggested.

It’s still a positive sign, though, and reviews have also been largely kind to the device. In our coverage, Lanh Nguyen gave the device 8.7 out of ten and said: “Whether the LG G7 ThinQ will be able to outshine its biggest rivals remains to be seen but it certainly has the firepower to go toe-to-toe with the best smartphones available.”
LG officially released the LG G7 ThinQ in Korea on May 18. It will beavailable for purchase in the U.S. and Canadaon Friday, June 1.
