Motorola’s latest budget phone packs a 90Hz display, 5,000mAh battery

Motorola unveiled twomid-range G seriesphones last week, with both packing respectable spec sheets. Now, the company hasannouncedits budget entry for Europe in the form of the Moto G20.

It arrives for €149 (~$180) on the continent in Breeze Blue and Flamingo Pink colorways. While the Moto G20 does feature a dated design, that basement price does bring plenty of smartphone with it.

For starters, a 6.5-inch LED with 1,600 x 720 resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate frontlines the Moto G20. An octa-core Unisoc T700 SoC is the silicon of choice mated to 4GB of RAM and a choice of 64GB or 128GB of storage. There’s also a microSD card slot for expansion too. Power is provided by a 5,000mAh battery which Motorola believes is good for two days of use. Top-ups come courtesy of a 10W charging system.

There’s a quad-camera layout on show, too. A 48MP rear camera headlines, while an 8MP ultra-wide, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth shooter provide support. Up front, a 13MP selfie shooter sits in a teardrop notch.

Other creature comforts include Wi-Fi 5 support, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.0. There’s also a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a bottom-firing loudspeaker. Android 11 comes preinstalled.

Moto G20: Price and availability

According to Motorola, the Moto G20 is rolling out to “select European countries” and will arrive in other regions in the “coming weeks.” There’s no word on global availability just yet. For now, expect the Moto G20 to go up against theTCL 20 SEandPOCO M3in Europe’s sub-€200 segment.
