Nextbit interview showcases how far the Robin has come since September

At CES 2016, our own Nirave Gondhia interviewed Nextbit Head of Product, Scott Croyle. Together, the two discussed how much progress the Kickstarter-backed, cloud-centricRobinhas made in the last few months of developments since our first hands on last September.
Nextbit really is putting together an interesting product with the Robin. The $399 device is unique because instead of focusing primarily on internal storage, owners of the Robin will get 100GB of free cloud storage upon purchase. The idea is to make cloud-storage the default method of memory storage instead of physical storage.
Croyle says that pre-orders, which are currentlyavailable through Backerkick, will be ending on January 15th. The reason behind this is that, since the phone is slated to ship in mid-February, Nextbit wants to make sure that they don’t overwhelm their production line between Kickstarter and pre-orders. That means that if you want a Robin in your pocket next month, you’ve gotta act before Friday! Unfortunately, if you’re looking to get it in that cool, electric blue, you’re as SOL as Nirave – that version was a Kickstarter backer exclusive.
