Nokia 7.1 Plus (Nokia X7) leak points to Snapdragon 710 chip, dual rear cameras

The rumored Nokia 7.1 Plus, expected to be called the Nokia X7 in China, may have leaked ahead of its official reveal.SlashLeaksposted several renders of the alleged smartphone earlier today, along with its specs sheet.
The handset is shown from all sides revealing a USB Type-C port on the bottom, headphone jack at the top, and a display notch. It looks like a slim, metallic smartphone, featuring a large display area and dual (Carl ZEISS-branded) rear camera. The typical, circularNokiafingerprint scanner also seems to be in place on the rear.
SlashLeakssays the 7.1 Plus will feature a 6.18-inch (2246 x 1080 resolution) TFT LCD display, Snapdragon 710 chip (@2.2GHz), 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. The battery reportedly comes in at 3,500mAh, while the cameras are made up of 20MP front-facing snapper, and dual 12MP and 13MP rear cameras. The 7.1 Plus is also said to have 154.8 x 75.76 x 7.97mm dimensions, weigh 178g, and runAndroid 8.1 Oreoout of the box.
Finally, the Nokia 7.1 Plus is said to be launching tomorrow in China and going on sale October 23 for 2699 yuan (~$390).
While we can’t speak to the legitimacy of the leak, given its recent history with ‘Plus’-branded phones — like theNokia 5.1 PlusandNokia 6.1 Plus— HMD Global is likely to launch a 7.1 Plus at some point.
If the speculation is accurate, this would mean the 7.1 comes with many improvements over the Nokia 7.1, including a better chip, more RAM, higher resolution cameras, and more internal storage. That’s a lot of upgrades for a (potentially) small price hike.
HMD Global announced theNokia 7.1only earlier this month and it’s expected to go on sale in the coming weeks for ~$300 — and it was already shaping up to be a cracking handset (find out more about it at the link below). Though there would probably be more than 90 bucks separating them if/when they got a release in the West, they could still offer great potential in the mid-tier.
