Official Oxygen OS 11 survey sparks outrage amongst OnePlus 7/7T users

OnePlus has been under fire from users of theOnePlus 7and7T series. The stableAndroid 11 updateon the phones left a lot to be desired and, in fact, has hadseveral problems, leaving users wanting to roll back to Android 10. Now, a recently released Oxygen OS 11 softwaresurveyhas managed to further annoy OnePlus 7/7T users.
The survey seeks to ask users of the 2019 OnePlus flagships about their experience of using the stableOxygen OS 11build. When originally posted, it asked what users think of the Always On Display (AOD) feature on the OnePlus 7/7T series. However, the company forgot that the feature is not yet available on the phones, despite users complaining about it for months.

Always On Display (AOD) is one of the most prominent missing features from the stable Android 11 update for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T series. While AOD was available on the open beta builds for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T phones, it never made it to the stable Oxygen OS 11 version released in March. So asking users about their experience with the feature just made them very angry and kicked off along-winding threadon the OnePlus forum about the failures of Android 11 on the phones.

While OnePlus may have made a genuine mistake in adding the AOD question to its survey (it has now been removed), the larger sentiment we could gather from the comments is of growing distrust in the company.
Users are not merely upset about OnePlus asking about a feature it doesn’t actually provide on its phones. Many of them have expressed concerns about OnePlus updates being delayed, being full of bugs, and destroying the original stock-like Oxygen OS experience.
Meanwhile, almost three months after OnePlus rolled out the stable Android 11 build for the OnePlus 7 and 7T series, users are still facing problems like battery drain, overheating, audio bugs, and more. OnePlus did release an update for theOnePlus 7and7T seriesin May with several fixes, but many previous reported issues seemingly still remain.
As for AOD on the OnePlus 7/7T, the firm should ideally roll out the feature in a future stable release as it’s currently in testing. However, there’s no timeframe for when that’ll happen.
