OPPO launches its ColorOS-powered Apple Watch clone

Today, OPPO announced its latestFind X2 series of smartphones, and alongside them, it officially revealed the much-anticipatedApple Watch…I meanOPPO Watch. This is the company’s first foray into the smartwatch market, and even though it takes many design cues from the competition, it still looks promising.
OPPO announced the device during itslive-streamedlaunch event, though it was a little overshadowed by the smartphone segment. The company revealed more about the device over on itswebsite, including the design dimensions, its features, and what’s running under the hood.
The OPPO Watch features a 46mm chassis, a 402 x 473 1.91-inch OLED screen, fitness tracking, a heart rate sensor, water-resistance up to 50 meters, and eSIM support. It also supports OPPO’s latest VOOCfast-charging, which should charge the watch up to 46 percent in about 15 minutes. OPPO says it should last for approximately 40 hours with normal usage or up to 21 days with its built-in power-saving mode.

What’s really interesting about the watch is the software. The company claims the OPPO Watch is running a version ofColorOStailored for wearable devices instead ofGoogle’s WearOS. OPPO also says the device may run different software depending on the market, but it’s not very clear about this.
Customers in China will be able to get their hands on the OPPO Watch on March 24, and we expect to see a global launch towards the end of April. It will be available for 1,499 yuan (~$215), which seems like a pretty reasonable price tag for what you are getting.
