Razer Phone 2 specs appear in the Google Play Console, evidence of a Chroma app
June 02, 2025
Razer ignited new interest in smartphone gaming when it announced theRazer Phone. Now, a year later, the company plans to keep that momentum going by releasing a slightly updated handset. While we had a pretty good idea of what would be powering the device, theRazer Phone 2’sspecs have leaked out thanks to a listing on the Google Play Console (viaXDA-Developers).
As you may see from the screenshot below, the Razer Phone 2, codenamed “Aura,” is shown to come running the Snapdragon 835 CPU, 8GB of RAM, andAndroid 8.1 Oreo. We’re really hoping that the processor type is just a typo copied over from the original Razer Phone. There’s no reason to expect Razer not to include the Snapdragon 845.

The spec listing also shows that the handset should come with a 1440×2560 resolution display which is the same as last year’s 120Hz screen. While it doesn’t state how large the overall handset is, the chances are that Razer will keep the 5.72-inch display size as it doesn’t appear to be changing much of the second-generation phone’s design.
What’s interesting is that the Play Console listing is accompanied by a photo of the Razer Phone 2. While we’ve seenrenders of the handsetleak already, this image shows a Chroma app shortcut on the phone’s homescreen.

Thanks to a previous rumor, it was already pretty clear that Razer plans to incorporate itsChroma lighting systeminto the phone. It still isn’t clear how the company plans to do this with the Razer Phone 2, but it could likely add a multi-color LED into the logo on the back of the phone or add more user-customizable options for the device’s notification LED.
