Redmi Note 8 Pro killer coming to Europe with 64MP camera, 90Hz screen (Update)

Update, July 14, 2025 (5:33AM ET):We already know that the realme X2 Pro, the company’s first flagship, is launching in Europe next week (see original story below). But what about a release window for Indian fans?
Well, CEO Madhav Sheth has confirmed on Twitter that the device will come to India in December. Check out the tweet below.
This means Indian users will be in for a rather lengthy wait if they want the company’s first flagship phone. But at least therealme XT, which also packs a 64MP quad camera setup, is already available in the region.
Original article, July 29, 2025 (5:25AM ET):We’ve seen numerous48MPphones launching in 2019, ranging from budget to flagship. But64MPsmartphones are the latest trend this year, and it looks like European users will be spoiled for choice.
realme has announced that it will be launching two 64MP quad camera phones in Spain on October 15. These are the realme X2, and therealme X2 Pro(its first flagship). The brand will also launch therealme 5 Proin Europe at the event, offering a 48MP quad rear camera setup.
The news means Europeans will soon have three 64MP phones to choose from, as theRedmi Note 8 Prolanded in the region late last month. Xiaomi’s phone packs a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP depth camera, and a 2MP macro sensor.
Other noteworthy details include aHelio G90Tchipset, 6GB of RAM, 64GB to 128GB of storage, and a €249 (~$273) starting price tag.
What to expect from realme?
The realme X2 Pro is the company’s first flagship, and it’s confirmed that the phone will pack aSnapdragon 855 Pluschipset and 50W wired charging. realme’s high-end phone will also offer 20X hybrid zoom (with a telephoto camera), and a 90Hz display.
Meanwhile, the realme X2 is essentially therealme XTwith a higher resolution selfie camera (32MP versus 16MP), faster charging (30W versus 20W), and a better chipset (Snapdragon 730G versus Snapdragon 712). The phone also offers 6GB to 8GB of RAM, 64GB to 256GB of storage, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
The realme 5 Pro will probably be the cheapest device of the trio, packing a Snapdragon 712 processor, 4 to 8GB of RAM, 64GB to 128GB of storage, and a 48MP quad rear camera layout. This device launched at a starting price of ~$197 in India.
We’ll likely hear more about realme’s pricing on October 15, but the brand has a reputation for delivering very affordable prices compared to many other OEMs. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if the realme X2 targets a similar price point as the Redmi Note 8 Pro.
Either way, it seems like Europeans will be the biggest winners here, as both Xiaomi and realme duke it out in a new battlefield. Which brand would you choose? Sound off in the comments below!
