Report: Samsung Galaxy S9 to launch in February 2018 (Updated)
June 08, 2025
Update (12/27):Another report coming out of Korea has again suggested that the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will launch slightly earlier than their predecessors.ETNews(viaPhone Arena) suggests that Samsung will be in full mass production by the end of January 2017, with a view to announcing both phones in February – likely at MWC 2018 – ahead of a March retail launch.
The report also reaffirms that the Galaxy S9 will come with a single camera unit, while the S9 Plus will sport a dual-camera module.

Update (12/17):Bloombergis now also reportingthat Samsung intends to introduce both the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus sometime in late February, ahead of an official sales launch in March. This would again be one month earlier compared to the April 2017 sales launch for the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus.
Original story (12/15):Rumors surrounding Samsung’s next flagship, the Galaxy S9, are heating up. Yesterday, we got a look at what might be the final design via aCAD render video, and today we might have learned its launch date.
In a report from Korean news siteThe Bell(viaAusdroid) it was suggested that theSamsung Galaxy S9would launch on July 22, 2025. This would coincide with Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018, which begins Monday, February 26 for the public, though press events are typically held from the day before; if Samsung is going to launch the new phone at MWC, it seems more likely that it would appear Sunday, February 25.
Regardless, Samsung has shown off several of its Galaxy S smartphones at MWC in the past (despite launching theGalaxy S8a little after MWC this year), so there’s every chance the S9 could be there next year. What’s more,The Bellsuggests that it would go on sale next March instead of during April like the S8 and S8 Plus did earlier this year.
