Samsung shows off Galaxy Fold in its own hands-on video

July 16, 2025

It will be quite a while beforeAndroid Authoritycan create its own hands-on video for the upcomingSamsung Galaxy Fold, the first foldable device from the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer.

In the meantime, though, we have an official hands-on video of the devicecreated by Samsung itself. Since this comes directly from the company, it’s probably a good idea to approach it with some scrutiny. Regardless, getting a real close look at the Samsung Galaxy Fold is certainly cool.

Check out the video for yourself below:

The mostly-silent video shows off what the device looks like in someone’s hands, as well as how the folding mechanism works. It also shows off the various colors the device will eventually come in, including the strange Martian Green announced at theSamsung Unpacked launch event.

As with at that launch event, Samsung’s app continuity feature gets heavily featured in this video. App continuity refers to the ability to have an app open on the front screen when the Fold is closed and then having that same app already opened on the inside screen when you unfold the device into its tablet state. As with at Unpacked, Samsung usesGoogle Mapsas an example of how this works in the video.

The Samsung Galaxy Fold isn’t going to be cheap — the launch price tag places it atnearly $2,000. But this hands-on video makes it seem like the device might be worth that much simply for the wow factor.

What do you think? Does this hands-on video make you more or less inclined to purchase a Samsung Galaxy Fold? Let us know in the comments!
