Samsung to release Samsung Galaxy Wide 3 on May 25

August 07, 2025

Samsung will release a new low to mid-end smartphone called the Samsung Galaxy Wide 3 on May 25. The device will cost 297,000 won (around $275.02) and be exclusive to SK-Telecom in Korea. The phone is the successor to the Galaxy Wide 2.

SK-Telecom says it is targeting the device at over 40s who want a large screen phone for a small price and it shows in device’s basic features.

Unlike other recently announced budget Samsung phones, theGalaxy J6 and Galaxy J8, there is no “Infinite Display” on the Galaxy Wide 2. Instead, it comes with a 5.5-inch HD display, along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB expandable storage.

It also has an unnamed 1.6GHz Octa-core processor, a 13MP rear camera with a f/1.7 aperture, and a 13MP front-facing camera with a f/1.9 aperture. The battery has a 3,300mAh capacity and the phone will run Android Oreo out of the box.

At first blush, this doesn’t appear to be a very interesting device from Samsung. There are a number of smartphones in recent memory that offer more — far more in some cases — for under $250-$300, including theHUAWEI Mate SE,Nokia 6 (2018), and the upcomingXiaomi Redmi S2.Those phones won’t be as easy to get hold of as the Galaxy Wide 3 will be on Samsung’s home turf, though.

As of yet, there is no mention of an international release for the Galaxy Wide 3.
