The 128GB OnePlus 9 Pro won’t be coming to North America at all

August 20, 2025

Since April, theOnePlus 9 Prohas been available in the US, but only in its priciest guise. There were plans to offer the cheaper config, too, but it was reportedly delayed after launch. But now, a new report suggests that this model will not be sold in North America at all.

PerAndroid Police, OnePlus confirmed that the $969 8GB/128GB OnePlus 9 Pro will be scrapped from the lineup in the region. Instead, if users want this year’s flagship OnePlus phone, they’ll have to settle for the$1,069 12GB/256GB option.

OnePlus reportedly blames the decision on “unforeseen supply constraints specific to North American devices.” “In North America we are prioritizing the 12×256 GB version to ensure our users have access to the highest spec device,” OnePlus added in a statement toAndroid Police.

A $1,069 OnePlus: Deal or no deal?

All things considered, paying $100 more for an additional 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage isn’t a terrible deal. But it is a blow for those waiting for a cheaper model with more modest specs. OnePlus is generally known to offer cheaper flagships than its rivals. However, the cheapest available OnePlus 9 Pro is pricier than the baseSamsung Galaxy S21 Plusmodel, albeit with 4GB more RAM on tap.

Our verdict:OnePlus 9 Pro review

Ultimately, if you’re in North America and want a 2021 OnePlus flagship, you can either settle for the weaker but cheaper OnePlus 9 or fork out more than planned for the Pro’s top config. Arguably, the lack of a middle ground might further alienate fans.
