The Google Pixel 4a might not land this month after all, new leak suggests
June 30, 2025
Had there not been a COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 iteration of Google I/Owould be happening this week. During that event, Google would have almost certainly launched theGoogle Pixel 4asmartphone, as it did last year with thePixel 3a. Initially, we assumed Google would still launch the Pixel 4a online this week.
However, a new leak over at German-language siteCaschys Blog(h/tAndroid Police) suggests that we won’t see the launch of the Google Pixel 4a this month at all. Instead, we might need to wait until June.
Originally, we expected the Pixel 4a to land in stores in Europeon May 22. This information came viaCaschys Blog, which sourced the info from a Vodaphone database leak. That would have meant that we’d likely see the phone launch this week and hit store shelves a few weeks later.

Now, though,Caschys Blogsays the Vodaphone database has been updated with a new sell date of June 5. It isn’t likely that Google would announce the Pixel 4a this week if the phone wouldn’t hit store shelves until that date, so it’s much more likely that we would see the launch “postponed” (in quotes because Google never officially announced a launch date in the first place).
Besides, a June 5 sell date for the Google Pixel 4a lines up very well with the official confirmation ofan Android 11 eventGoogle is throwing on August 03, 2025. Theteaser videofor that launch (mirrored above) heavily suggests there could be new hardware announcements on the way, so this new leak seems to be fairly strong.
Hopefully, the Google Pixel 4a doesn’t get postponed for too long, as we are very excited to see the company’s next entry in the mid-range phone space and how it will compete against the similariPhone SE.
