This could be our first real-world look at Google Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5

August 01, 2025

The Google Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G are expected to launch in September or October, and we’ve already seen a few leaks and teases emerge. Now, a redditor has posted a real-world look at the two devices, along with purported specifications.

The now-deleted image shows the Pixel 5 on the left and the larger Pixel 4a 5G on the right, revealing a brushed metal look on the former device as we saw with Google’s teased picture. We also see similar camera housings and rear fingerprint scanners on both phones. Fortunately, we were able to save a cached version of the picture — check it out below for a good look at the upcoming phones.

The redditor alsoposted a now-deleted screenshotpurportedly taken on the Pixel 5, and it points to a 4,000mAh battery. In fact, the user revealed more than just battery details, as they briefly posted and then deleted alleged specs for both phones too. Fortunately, another redditormanaged to capture these details. Check them out in the table below.

It’s also claimed that both phones will be equipped with plastic backs. This wouldn’t be unheard of for Pixel devices, but the flagship range has stuck to glass backs for a few generations now.

It’s particularly interesting to see Google might drop the Pixel 4’s telephoto camera in favor of an ultra-wide snapper on both phones (said to be a 16MP shooter, according toXDA-Developers). This would be a weird move for a flagship phone in particular, as we’ve seen brands adopt both telephoto and ultra-wide shooters as part of a versatiletriple rear camerasetup.

The difference in battery size is also noteworthy, as you’d usually expect a bigger phone to offer a bigger battery. But the smaller Pixel 5 is said to pack a 4,000mAh battery compared to the Pixel 4a 5G’s 3,800mAh pack. Nevertheless, it looks like Google is finally listening to users who wanted longer endurance on their Pixel flagships.
