We asked, you told us: Here’s how long your phone should ideally take to charge

Plenty of smartphone brands offer fast-charging capabilities in 2021, with the likes of OnePlus, Xiaomi, OPPO, and ASUS all offering 50W or higher charge speeds on some phones.

Wattage isonly part of the equationas Google’sPixel 6 seriesand Samsung’s flagships show, as it all ultimately boils down to charging times. So how long should your phone ideally take to charge? We posed this question toAndroid Authorityreaders last week, and here’s how they voted.

How long should your phone ideally take to charge?

We posted the poll in a news article regarding a phone with150W chargingpotentially launching soon, with over 1,100 votes tallied. And it turns out that there wasn’t an overwhelming favorite in terms of charging time.

The most popular option was 30 to 39 minutes (19.2%), which would be in line with devices like theXiaomi Mi 11 UltraandOPPO Find X3 Pro. This narrowly beat a desired charging time of 20 to 29 minutes, with 16.9% of respondents choosing this option.

In third place and just missing out on second place was the desired charging time of an hour or more, accruing 16.7% of the vote. The people who voted for this option seem to be more concerned about battery health than fast charging times, to begin with.

Just under 15% of polled readers desired a charging time of between 50 and 59 minutes, followed by 12% of respondents who wanted a charging time of under five minutes.

In last place was the camp that wanted a charging time of between five and nine minutes, accruing under 4% of the vote.
