Yahoo Mail mobile website gets revamped, Android Go app version launched

Are you still usingYahoo Mail? If so, you’re apparently not alone. The free email service, now owned by Verizon, now boasts over 227 million active users worldwide with a whopping 26 billion emails received every day. Today, Yahoo Mail is launching a new versionof its mobile website, which offers many of the same features that are available for its mobile app users.

Yahoo says this revamp of the Mail mobile website is to help users all over the world get the best experience on their phones, no matter where they’re located, what hardware specs the device might have, or network speeds.

Some of the features that will be added to the Yahoo Mail mobile site include swiping to either delete emails or marking them as read, along with a sidebar menu with organizational folders, auto-suggest for searching for email addresses, an infinite scrolling inbox, and an easy access toolbar that lets you quickly take actions on emails. The mobile web version also has options to change the color theme to light and dark backgrounds.

Along with the new mobile site, Yahoo Mail is also launching an app specifically forAndroid Go deviceswhich are entry-level smartphones that run a stripped-down version of Android.
