Microsoft announcedWindows 11last week, making for a pretty significant change compared to Windows 10. We’ve got an overhauled UI, improved window layouts, and improved Virtual Desktop support. But the biggest addition has to beAndroid app support.
Yes, Windows now lets you natively download and run Android apps via a new subsystem in the desktop operating system. Will people actually use Android apps on Windows 11 though? That’s what we asked readers last week.
Will you be using Android apps on your Windows 11 PC?
Over 4,500 votes were cast after we posted the poll in our announcement article, and the results show that just under two-thirds of respondents will definitely use Android apps on Windows 11. More specifically, 36% say they’ll use Android apps on their desktop all the time and just over 29% say they’ll use Android apps some of the time.
It’s interesting but not surprising to see so many respondents wanting to run Android apps on their PC. After all, there are some services that function better as apps (or aren’t officially available on desktop), such as Clubhouse, Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok.
Roughly one in five polled users said they’re on the wall about Android apps on Windows 11 and would wait to see how it works first. This is understandable too, as the last thing you’d want is for Android apps to run poorly or for the installation process to be a pain.

Finally, less than one in 10 respondents say they aren’t interested in running Android apps on their Windows 11 PC. We can see why some might not be keen on this concept, as Microsoft is relying on the ho-hum Amazon AppStore for Android apps. So that means a significant chunk of apps (including many Google apps) won’t be supported. It’s also worth pointing out that many Windows users have traditionally relied on their browser for major services, as opposed to downloading dedicated apps.
In any event, it’s clear that over 90% of polled readers are open to the idea of using Android apps on Windows 11 at the very least.
