YouTube brings YouTube Kids to India

In a press event in New Delhi,YouTubehas announced the launch ofYouTube Kidsin India. YouTube Kids is a standalone app built with parents and children in mind that makes it easier for kids to find videos on topics they want to explore.
YouTube Kids has been launched in over 20 countries already, and is now available for free on Google Play and App Store in India starting today.
The kid-friendly app sports a bright and playful design with larger images and bold icons. The user experience is fast and simple for little thumbs to navigate with voice search that allows children to find videos even if they can’t spell or type.
On the occasion of the launch, several top Indian YouTube kids and learning creators will be adding new shows exclusive to the YouTube platform. These include new learning shows from ChuChuTV and Kids TV, a new season of “Cat & Keet”, a popular chase comedy show by Toonz Animation, the Gummy Bear song in Hindi, and a new season of Appu – The Yogic Elephant. Of course, the kids can watch any series from all of the YouTube channels they already know and love.
YouTube is also working on bringing in new guest-curated playlists from educators, celebrities, trusted names, and other parents in the coming weeks.
On the sidelines of the launch, YouTube also shared top ten most watched Kids and Learning channels in India – (in alphabetical order) ChuChu TV Nursery Rhymes, ChuChu TV Surprise, CVS 3D Rhymes, Green Gold, Infobells Hindi Rhymes, Infobells Telugu Rhymes, Kids Channel – Nursery Rhymes & Toy Trucks, Kids TV Nursery Rhymes, Videogyan 3D Rhymes, and Wow Kidz.
