ZTE VR announced: Google Daydream supported via Axon 7

VRis going full steam ahead andGooglehas upped its game with the introduction ofDaydream. This will push forth a new generation of VR headsets that will be more suited to compete with the bigger guys, such as theSamsung Gear VR,HTC Vive,Oculus Riftand others.

Not only isGoogle building its own Daydream VR headset, but other companies are free to join the party and manufacture their own. It’s only a matter of time before these VR units hit the market.HUAWEI has already mentioned its interest in the project, and today we have another Chinese company announcing its very own Daydream-compatible VR headset.

The ZTE VR will work with the brand newZTE Axon 7to bring a superior experience to its users. And we meant it when we said Daydream would be far superior toCardboard; this thing looks to be a very nifty gadget. It has a 9-axis gyroscope, which will measure your movements much more accurately. In addition, latency has been reduced to a mere 18 milliseconds. And the 5-part glass configuration makes the ZTE VR as immersive as headsets get.

ZTEclaims most VR headsets in the market comes with inferior 4-axis gyroscopes. The company also claims to be generous with its 18 ms delay mentions. It is said they can actually achieve 16.7 millisecond delays.

ZTE did tell us this headset is not based off Google’s Daydream reference design, but they have been working with Google to make it compatible with the new platform.
